Sandy Thomas has been heard all over the world voicing promotional announcements, commercials, imaging for radio, network shows, and working with National Ad agencies his whole professional life. Working from his studio on Long Island, NY.
His 1st love radio, studying broadcast at The University of Florida, Gainesville, then into a thriving 8 year radio run in South Florida, then the jump to New York City to gamble on a full-time freelance Union National VO acting career. It all worked out. He says;
"It was by no means easy, tremendous risk, years of rejection, seed capital investment, i invested 60K in the early 90's to build ONE of the countries 1st digital home audio studios on Long Island when I relocated to NY, it was ALL the savings i had, and the move to NY was purely a wing and a prayer, with zero guarantees, and hedging on your team of agents, and the opportunities they could build, then it would be up to your talent delivering week to week, year to year, decade into decade. And never a sure thing. Training on the Long Island Rail Road in/out from Long Island into Manhattan for over 30 straight years weekly, live auditioning when MP3's weren't allowed. And i've been here when in early 2000 the business model shifted. Its been a long, not always simple, but beautiful career journey. Nothing thats worth it, in this life, is easy."
Thomas raised 5 kids with a very supportive wife in a full life provided by VO. "Grateful beyond the word - that GOD enabled this dream to be real."
Credited with over 45 Union affiliated National Network Commercial Ad campaigns over a multi decade consistent run. Some of his work includes the NFL, Gillette, Poppa Johns, Keebler, Toyota, Pontiac, Maxfli, Lays, Sony, Pepsi, TJ Maxx, Ballpark Franks, Citizen Watches, Pizza Hut, Comcast, Burdines, Publix, The Florida Lottery, Bells Department Stores, Toyota, Hefty, Renaissance Hotel Chain, Kraft Foods, GSK, Hershey’s, HP Printers, Payday, Computer City, Campbells, Sony, HBO, MSNBC, NBC, ESPN, ESPN2, A&E, HGTV, AMC, NICKELODIAN, MTV, VH-1, GAMESHOW NETWORK, CARTOON NETWORK, Office Depot, Miller Beer, Jeep, Pontiac, Citizen, Swatch, too many local car dealer spots to mention…more.
From commercial VO to the dawn of reality Television becoming the only principle actor as the in-show Voice along side of host Joe Rogan Voicing over 150 episodes of the Hit NBC UNION AFTRA sanctioned TV show FEAR FACTOR first airing in 2001 and still airing on multiple streaming networks somewhere in the World tonight. The show has not left the air since first broadcast in 2001.
One of the most successful Voices In radio imaging, Voicing 1000's of radio stations in the US and Europe in multi formats over the last 30 consistent years covering ROCK, POP, NEWS TALK, HOT AC, RYTHMIC - EDM, SPORTS, including being the voice of one of the top rated HOT AC radio stations in the US, Mix 104.1, Boston, to this day Voicing this station the last over 2 decades.
Thomas says, "My Voice Over career is the definition of many people over many years contributing to this success as no one is an island. Never yours alone accomplishing this much was the result of many talented people, VO agents, radio programmers, creative directors, media general managers, market managers, imaging directors, so many people that put me in position to have success. Thomas says, "Grateful to every significant person who makes this opportunity to do what I love possible. Without their help, influence, opportunity, I have no career."
Thomas is designated as a fully vested SAG-AFTRA Union scale Voice actor in good standing. Married to Rebecca, herself a Voice Actor and nutritionist. They have 5 kids and live on Long Island. He still performs Voice Over work consistently everyday. In memory of Connie Zimet, one of the most talented, helpful Voice actors in the history of Voice Over. Thomas says "She impacted my career and many others in seismic ways, without her early support I quite possibly never have a long-term Union career." rip Connie, your impact, reach, love and ferocious personality, humor and giving selfless heart, helped so many! Thank you Connie, from many"

Rebecca got into her Voice Over career the old fashioned way, she never planned on being here. If not for a chance visit into her husbands VO studio when a local California radio station asked, "Would you happen to know a female Voice who might be able to Voice a couple of quick lines" Rebecca read em, got the gig, and onward she went Voicing many projects including a bunch of radio imaging, a lot of commercial and industrial jobs over the last 20 years. Contact our studio if you'd like her to audition.
Many people scratch their head when entering the confusing world of VO. Many within the industry may still be puzzled about which lane to roll in. Do I stay on a Non-Union VO career path, what does Union define as, how do I navigate that system. Social media? How do I manage that system, demos, my team, my website platform, on & on. And all worthy inquiries, how bout this one...Should I PAY a VO manager monthly to rep me?
One ☝️ on one Via VO zoom sessions is a possible destination to learn, get better, build further, and possibly realize, "Mannn this crap ain't for me"
From folks entering the industry to veteran's working steady. These VO Class formats are designed to teach, inform, work out on copy interpretation, learn, get better, produce VO demos, if it makes sense, and extending you the total insight on the industry so you realize a complete understanding and if this makes sense for you.
I never set out to teach, i was working in VO my whole career, VO coaching found me. Through the years I would help, by request. Over the last 4 years the volume of people I've worked with has increased. I enjoy the process of helping, informing, making VO demos IF its merited.
Many people have many reasons why they are pursuing Voice Over. Some are hobbyist, others want this to be a full-time career model. On VO zoom sessions you'll be able to realize an inside look without a major investment, and get total insight on this complex industry. From beginners, or perhaps you're a working pro and you need a VO demo in a certain category. Or your just entering and you need your 1st VO demo produced, or your having your demo produced elsewhere and you want some copy reading workouts to tune up your reads. I collaborate on projects with excellent Industry support people like Rich O'Donoghue at IO Audio, an Award winning Voice Reel producer, or social media / web builder / mentor, motivator Corey Dissin, because building a team matters within this climb to realize VO bookings.
We cover it all here. On a single VO zoom session, perhaps you might even conclude; this effort isn't for me. In life its just as critical to figure out whats NOT right for you as it is to find your passion.

Radio imaging will always be a big part of my Voice Over career. Radio was my entry point to a major Union scale SAG-AFTRA National VO booking agenda for over 30 years. I love radio and always will. I could post 500 demos covering the multi formats I voice in, but I choose to post only this one. See
Ray Avilla was one of the most successful audio
producers to ever be employed in the radio industry. His credits are too wide and long to list. He could image any format, and he did. Ray and I worked on hundreds of audio projects that aired everywhere. Ray also specialized in NewsTalk imaging.
He produced my voice on WPHT, Philadelphia for over 14 years where it still airs. He produced my voice on WPHT, Philadelphia for over 14 years where it still airs. WCCO Minneapolis is a historic over 100 yr old News Talk radio station that was tanking in the Minneapolis, Minnesota ratings, when Ray, myself and my wife were hired with the task of re-imaging the entire station. After a couple of books WCCO moved back into the TOP 10 in the ratings. An amazing resurgence for one of America's most heritage radio properties.
Not only due to our Voice Image and Audio production content, but due to the leadership of famed radio programmer Andy Bloom, and the pelethera of programming changes that were made. Ray Avilla passed away on OCTOBER 30, 2021, he was a dear friend, with his enormous talent always to be missed.
